Epoxy is a thermosetting polymer formed by a reaction of an epoxide resin with a polyamine hardener. Due to its exceptionally hard, strong and lightweight nature it’s used in a wide range of applications. Within the construction industry it´s commonly used as a bonding agent for mortar, chemical anchoring, structural reinforcement or repairs, coatings and flooring systems.
Applications using epoxy are seamless cast floor, so-called grain floors such as stone, marble and glass carpets, industrial mortar floors and coatings (resin paints).
The high compressive strength of epoxy and it´s easy to clean surface make it the ideal solution for flooring applications in heavy traffic areas such as car parks, garages, work areas, warehouses and more.
Unlike a Polyurethane floor, an epoxy floor has hard-elastic properties, making it less crack bridging. Epoxy is UV resistant, but will always turn at least a little yellow and is not fully lightfast. When the aesthetic aspects of a floor are of great importance, we recommend (link) STEPPAFLOOR PU
